PEMF Therapy with Electrons Plus

This effective, non-invasive PEMF treatment accelerates your recovery, reduces inflammation, and helps you get back to peak performance — recharging your health at the cellular level.

At The AIM Clinic, we combine PEMF with hands-on clinical precision to restore your body’s natural electrical flow and optimize healing.

What is PEMF Therapy?

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy. Think of it as a wireless battery charger for your body’s cells.

Every cell in your body relies on an electrical charge to function, pump in nutrients, and eliminate waste. When tissue is injured, fatigued, or chronically inflamed, its cellular voltage drops. PEMF therapy delivers safe, health-promoting pulses of magnetic energy deep into your tissues, stimulating cellular repair right where it starts.

Unlike passive modalities like traditional ultrasound or basic electric stimulation (e-stim)—which only affect superficial layers—clinical-grade PEMF penetrates completely through the body. This deep tissue delivery allows for a profoundly deep, yet entirely safe, therapeutic effect.

The Microcirculation Visualized

PEMF has a well-documented effect on your blood flow, specifically addressing the "Rouleaux effect," where red blood cells clump together, limiting oxygen delivery.

The Science & History Behind Magnetic Therapy

The therapeutic use of magnetic fields is backed by decades of medical research. In the mid-20th century, Dr. Harold Saxton Burr, a professor at the Yale University School of Medicine, discovered that measurable imbalances in an organ's electrical field precede the onset of physical illness. He proved that if you correct the electrical imbalance, the body's natural healing capacity takes over.

  • 1979: The FDA cleared PEMF to stimulate bone growth and heal non-union fractures.

  • 1987: FDA cleared for treating post-operative pain and edema.

  • 2004: FDA cleared as an adjunct to cervical spinal fusion surgery.

  • 2011: FDA cleared for treating medication-resistant depression.

  • NASA Research: NASA utilized PEMF technology to reverse bone loss and muscle degeneration experienced by astronauts on long-term space missions.

Passive vs. Active Guided PEMF

Not all PEMF therapy devices are created equal. You may have seen low-power, consumer-grade PEMF mats or pillows online (often delivering a passive 50 to 1000 gauss across a broad mat). While at-home devices offer some general wellness support, they lack the targeted power and clinical oversight required to heal deep-seated muscle, joint, and tendon  injuries.

Electrons Plus is an Active, Guided PEMF system. It completely bridges the gap between manual therapy and bioelectrical medicine.

How Does Guided PEMF Work?

With Electrons Plus, the practitioner becomes part of the bioelectrical circuit. The electromagnetic energy flows through the practitioner's hands directly into your tissue.

By utilizing manual palpation, the practitioner can physically feel where your tissues are bound up, restricted, or holding dropped cellular voltage. As their hands move over the affected area, the PEMF energy causes targeted, therapeutic muscle contractions. This tells the practitioner exactly where the underlying injury lies, allowing them to deliver an incredibly precise treatment of healing energy to the exact cellular source.

MODALITY COMPARISON

Why PEMF Stands Out

To best understand the PEMF benefits for complex musculoskeletal cases, it helps to see how it compares to other common clinical modalities:

Maximizing Results with Combined Therapies

Electrons Plus PEMF can be used  as a powerful biological primer and accelerator when combined with our other natural pain management therapies:

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) &
A2M (Alpha-2-Macroglobulin) Injections

Biological injections deliver concentrated growth factors and healing proteins to damaged joints. Utilizing PEMF before or after these injections optimizes the cellular environment, increases local ATP (cellular energy) production, and enhances circulation, helping your body utilize the healing proteins far more effectively.

Focused Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy uses acoustic waves to break up deep scar tissue and calcifications. Following up with Electrons Plus helps flush out metabolic waste, dramatically reduces post-treatment soreness, and accelerates the remodeling of healthy tissue.

INDIBA Tecar Therapy

Tecar therapy uses radiofrequency energy to generate deep thermal heat in tissues. Alternating or combining this with the non-thermal cellular recharging of PEMF delivers a powerful one-two punch for stubborn, chronic joint inflammation and deep fascial restrictions.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your Guided PEMF Treatment

Here’s what a session of hands-on, guided PEMF treatment includes:

  1. Preparation: No complex prep is required. You will rest comfortably on a treatment table. Electrons Plus requires direct skin contact, so we recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated.

  2. The Experience: Your treatment begins by placing a grounding pad on a neutral area to complete the circuit. The practitioner uses gentle touch on bare skin to direct the energy through their hands into tight or injured tissues. You will feel painless muscle contractions as the cellular voltage is restored in the target area.

  3. What it Feels Like: The treatment feels similar to a specialized sports massage paired with gentle muscle contractions. It is non-invasive, relaxing, and fully adjustable to your comfort level at all times.

  4. Duration: A standard treatment session lasts between 30 to 45 minutes.

  5. Post-Treatment: Once the session is complete, you can instantly return to your day. Most patients report an immediate reduction in pain and a feeling of lightness or profound relaxation in the treated area.

Treatment Protocol

While many patients experience significant symptom relief with Electrons Plus PEMF within just 1 or 2 sessions, we recommend a foundational block of 10 treatments spaced closely together to achieve long-lasting, structural cellular repair.

Contraindications & Safety Guidelines

While PEMF is exceptionally safe and non-invasive, it cannot be used under the following circumstances:

  • Presence of an implanted electrical device (pacemakers, defibrillators, cochlear implants).

  • Pregnancy.

  • Active bleeding, hemorrhaging, or during heavy menstruation.

Side Effects & Hydration

Because PEMF actively exercises your cells and stimulates cellular detoxification, you must drink plenty of water both before and after your session. If you are dehydrated, you may experience a temporary lightheadedness or a mild "Herxheimer/Detox" reaction as metabolic wastes are flushed into the bloodstream. Your practitioner can easily adjust future treatment strength and length to ensure your sessions are comfortable and side-effect-free.
